Who is it Suitable for?

The Management pathway is suitable for Assistant Managers and Deputy Managers working in day care services who are looking to progress their career. It is also appropriate for Managers who have not yet achieved a qualification at this level.

About course

What are the Entry Requirements?

Learners should be at least 19 years old. It is also recommended that they will hold a Level 3 qualification or above in a related area.

Do You Need to be Working to Take the Qualification?

Learners will need to be working in the role of Deputy or Manager in an appropriate setting, or have the opportunity to carry out responsibilities associated with these roles to be able to study for the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (England) (90 credits).

How Long does it Take to Complete?

It can usually be completed within a year.

Progression into the Early Years Workforce

Please note that the NCFE CACHE Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People`s Services (England) (Children and Young People`s Management) (601/4312/5/CYPM) holds no employment route to the early years workforce.

Learners wishing to enter the early years workforce must hold a qualification that is ‘full and relevant’ as defined by the Department for Education (DfE). NCFE CACHE offers several Early Years Educator qualifications at Level 3 that meet this criteria.

Those students without a Level 3 Early Years qualification wishing to study at Level 5 could work towards the NCFE CACHE Level 5 Early Years Senior Practitioner (603/3907/X) which meets the full and relevant criteria to enter the early years workforce and count in the Level 3 staffing ratios.
